As Technical Services Manager at Koysha (Ethiopia) you will have a key role for all technical and engineering services of the Project. Lead the site's Technical Office and other technical services. Manage the site's Lab, Surveyor, Geology, Monitoring, Technical Office, Planning and Design sections.

Hierarchically report to Project Director.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for overseeing the resolution of technical design and constructional problems.
  • Coordinate the activities of the technical office and of the design firm responsible for designing the works and temporary activities.
  • Manage the preparation of activities of the drawings related to the temporary works (road accesses, plant platforms, etc.) and of the construction drawings of the permanent works, in full compliance with the drawings of the executive project.
  • Ensure the planning and management of the project construction activities, both performed by subcontractors or in direct hiring approach, supervising multidisciplinary construction works according to the contract requirements and project objectives.
  • To manage, keep updated and report deviations on the project programme, ensuring this meets the requirements of the overall development programme.
  • To coordinate the Planning Section in the planning process and ensure accurate technical information is provided for planning applications and reports.
  • Monitor the Planning Department to check that the finishing dates correspond to the ones foreseen in the contract;
  • Checking all the technical documents issued by the Client and third parties, guaranteeing that all data is complete and that it complies with the contractual specifications.
  • Drawing-up all technical documents (construction methods, site procedures) according to contractual specifications, and also managing the final submission for the Client's approval according to contractual planning.
  • Ensure adequate support to the Project management team in the contractual aspects with the Client and Subcontractors.
  • Review Design documents provided by the Design’s Consultant and to ensure that these documents satisfy the Contractor’s methodology, schedule, budget etc.
  • Provide technical support to project management to evaluate any variation requests and/or in any claims against the Client and/or Subcontractors.
  • Responsible for the preparation of detailed constructional drawings in line with programme, specification, and budget requirements.
  • Conduct geo-technical checks concerning temporary works and non-temporary works are carried out.
  • Assisting the Site Management to check the progress status and draw-up internal coordination reports
  • Carrying out specific tasks for the role in line with the quality specifications set by the QAS Manual and corporate procedures.

 

Qualifications & Skills required:

 

  • Civil Engineer Degree or similar
  • 10 years of working experience as a site technical service manager
  • Strong Experience of managing large construction projects & expertise in construction methods,
  • Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • English fluent.
  • Italian fluent.
