We have an exciting opportunity for an Estimator to join the Bidding Team in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane! In this role, you will effectively  support the preparation of accurate cost estimates for tender submissions and ongoing projects.

Your focus will include:

 

  • Assist in preparing cost plans, tender submissions, and accurate direct and indirect cost estimates for construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Review project documentation, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to determine estimating requirements and support estimate development.
  • Gather, analyse, and maintain cost, productivity, and market pricing data, while liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and technical information.
  • Support tender activities by assisting with supplier quote evaluations, risk assessments, cost reviews, and the preparation of rates, qualifications, and clarifications.
  • Collaborate with project teams and senior estimators to ensure estimates are completed accurately, comply with company procedures, and contribute to successful tender outcomes.

 

 

What you will bring to the team:

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline, or currently working towards completion.
  • Demonstrated experience in the building, engineering, construction or infrastructure industry.
  • Previous experience in an estimating, project controls, engineering or related project support role is desirable.
  • Developing knowledge of tender preparation, cost estimating and project delivery processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and the ability to learn and utilise estimating software.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
  • Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Understanding of, or willingness to develop knowledge of, first-principles estimating, productivity factors and cost benchmarking techniques.
  • Experience within the building, engineering, construction or infrastructure sectors will be highly regarded.
