We have an exciting opportunity for a Subcontracts Expert to join the New Women and Babies Hospital Team in Perth. In this role, you will play a key role in the end‑to‑end procurement of subcontract works, supporting project delivery through effective tendering, evaluation, negotiation and supplier management.

Webuild is delivering the design and construction of the Women and Babies Hospital in Perth, Western Australia. This landmark project will replace the century‑old King Edward Memorial Hospital and expand services and choice for women, newborns, and families—delivering long‑lasting benefits and a positive legacy for the people of Western Australia.

Your focus will include:

 

  • Source and procure subcontract works, requirements and packages
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with group policies, procedures and project requirements
  • Process assigned procurement requisitions
  • Prepare bid evaluations and assess supplier offers, ensuring technical review by relevant departments
  • Negotiate supplier purchase orders and formalise agreements
  • Support the Commodity Manager in defining procurement strategies
  • Define vendor lists and prepare Requests for Proposal (RFPs)
  • Conduct market surveys and compare technical and commercial submissions
  • Maintain the project Procurement Plan and Procurement Schedule
  • Manage supplier relationships and review planned expenditure against budget, obtaining required approvals

 

 

What you will bring to the team:

 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a subcontracting, procurement or commercial role within the construction industry
  • Demonstrated experience delivering end‑to‑end procurement processes on large or complex projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction subcontracts, materials and services
  • Proven capability in commercial evaluation, contract negotiation and supplier management
  • Experience using contemporary procurement systems (SAP highly regarded)
  • Highly organised with the ability to operate in a fast‑paced, demanding project environment
  • Exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail and a results‑driven mindset
