We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Manager to join the New Women and Babies Hospital Team in Perth! As a senior leader on site, you will be responsible for execution of the construction plan on site including all construction activities and managing changes to meet schedule and project goals.

 

 

Perth Women and Babies Hospital

 

WeBuild is delivering the design and construction of the Women and Babies Hospital in Perth, Western Australia. This landmark project will replace the century-old King Edward Memorial Hospital and expand services and choice for women, newborns and families, delivering lasting benefits and a positive legacy for the people of Western Australia.

Your focus will include:

 

  • Lead and support the team to coordinate the procurement, delivery and installation of plant, amenities and materials and ensure effective management of subcontract works through inductions, pre-start meetings and relevant actions
  • Attend monthly subcontractor meetings to review progress against objectives
  • Develop strong working relationships with external stakeholders and act as the primary contact for subcontractor representatives, employees and their representatives such as unions

 

Site Manager - Structure and Facade

 

  • Oversee the successful delivery of both structure and façade package
  • Lead and mentor a team of professionals including engineers, coordinators and supervisors
  • Assist in planning and execution of all related activities to deliver structure and façade
  • Ensure pre-pours are completed and closed out where required
  • Take a lead role in overseeing tower crane activities making key decisions on critical path allocation. Note: There is a full-time crane coordinator on site, you will be the first point of escalation.
  • Manage and plan strategy to install infill panels where required limiting impact on the floorplate.

 

Site Manager - Fit-out

 

The fit-out package will include plantrooms, risers, and overall services scope.

 

    • Oversee the successful delivery of the fit-out scope
    • Lead and mentor a team of professionals including engineers, coordinators and supervisors
    • Develop sequencing while maintaining control of fit-out/plantroom work areas
    • Assist in planning and execution of all related activities to deliver fit-out package
    • Assist in managing QA prior to closing walls or commencement of following trades
    • Review plantroom methodologies ensuring builders works and installation of plan is sequenced correctly
    • Manage loading of material onto floorplate ensuring sequenced fit-out works

 

What you will bring to the team:

 

  • Diploma or Trade Qualification, TAFE & University Degree related to Construction, Project Management and/or Engineering
  • 10+ years construction experience, with 5+ years management experience
  • Extensive experience in all relevant aspects of on-site construction across large, complex commercial projects
  • Implementation and management of Tier 1 building site procedures and standards
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience on commercial projects across structure, facade and fit-out are essential
  • A commitment to delivering project outcomes and building strong relationship across large, diverse teams
