The Position

 

The HSEQ Director will lead and manage all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality for the New Women and Babies Hospital Project in Perth. Reporting directly to the Project Director, this role is responsible for ensuring that all HSEQ systems, processes, and practices meet the highest standards of compliance and performance in line with project requirements, Webuild corporate policies, Australian legislation, and stakeholder expectations.

 

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering a strong safety culture, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the successful delivery of a world-class health infrastructure project.

 

Health and Safety 

 

  • Develop, implement, and manage the HSE Management Plan and site-specific safety strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and behavioural safety leadership across the project.
  • Lead regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments; ensure closure of corrective actions.
  • Act as the senior safety leader and advisor to the Project Director and project leadership team.

 

Environment 

 

  • Oversee implementation of the Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, permits, and project-specific environmental commitments.
  • Coordinate environmental monitoring and reporting activities.
  • Identify and mitigate environmental risks and impacts during construction.

 

Quality

 

  • Lead the Quality Management System for the project in alignment with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Ensure quality objectives are integrated into project planning and execution.
  • Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance for compliance with quality standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and facilitate lessons learned processes.
