As part of organizational development, Webuild is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for its international projects, with an operational on-site assignment. The position will report functionally to Area Contract Management.
Role
Reporting hierarchically to Project Contract Management, the candidate will be involved in the economic and contractual management of quantities and work progress (both towards the Client and Subcontractors), contributing to the formulation and evaluation of variations and the quantification of additional charges and costs in the event of reservations towards the Client and/or subcontractors.
Main responsibilities
Economic Evaluation of Active Contract Variations
- In coordination with Project Planning, Cost Control, Technical Services, Procurement and site engineers, contributes to the preparation of project variations, in particular with regard to their economic evaluation (including the formulation of new unit prices).
- Supports the definition of new unit prices when necessary.
Work Progress Reports (SIL & SAL)
- Checks the progress of work on site and draws up internal and customer progress reports.
- Prepares the documents on which the job accounting is based, in particular the monthly, periodic and final progress reports.
- Follows the approval process until payment is made.
Reserve Management
- Identifies and supports the quantification of additional expenses and costs arising from adverse events subject to reserves with regard to the customer.
Subcontract Administration
- Checks the progress of subcontracted work on site and draws up progress reports for subcontractors.
- In coordination with the Contracts Manager or Subcontracts Manager, manages subcontracts.
- It takes care of progress reports, active and passive reserves, and progress monitoring.
Requirements
Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related fields.
Experience: Minimum 5-7 years' experience in the construction sector or similar fields, on projects of significant size and complexity.
Languages: Advanced English (oral and written communication with international clients).
Other: Certifications in safety and project management are considered a plus. Ability to read and interpret highly complex contracts and related technical attachments (measurements, drawings, price lists, technical specifications, etc.).
