Webuild Italia is hiring a Health and Safety Expert for our "Italian Area" with experience in Tunneling.

 

Roles and responsibilities:

Supporting the QHSE Manager, in functionally coordinating the Safety Managers of the Operating Units (Webuild Italy area projects), to define the QHSE project plans, also monitoring their implementation and development, with the aim of ensuring their adequacy and effectiveness, with particular reference to health and safety issues.

In particular, the resource will support the QHSE Manager in the following activities:

  • Disseminating the Group's guidelines, procedures and models for the QHSE area, verifying that they are all applied correctly by the Operating Units of the geographic arena of competence, with particular reference to the Health and Safety area.
  • Executing inspections and audits to verify that the Operating Units, based on their area of competence, comply with the Health and Safety regulatory requirements.  
  • Coordinating HS Managers of the Operating Units, also ensuring, in close collaboration with the representatives of the other Units of the Directorate to which they belong, that Corporate initiatives in the Health and Safety area are implemented.
  • Analysing the safety performance of the Operating Units, and preparing HS reports and institutional documents of the Operating Units in the geographical area of competence, to send to the corporate bodies and to the Management.
  • Providing specialist support in the Health and Safety field to the representatives of the Headquarters and Operating Units.
  • Preparing the HS documentation required during the project pre-qualification bid development phase, for the geographical area of competence. And determining the potential cost impacts to add in the economic estimates, in collaboration with the Proposal Manager and the contacts of the Bidding Organizational Unit.
  • Supporting the systematic verification, also through audit activities, of the adequacy of the QHSE Management System at the Operating Units of the geographical area of competence, also ensuring its effective implementation, in compliance with corporate and contractual requirements.
  • collaborating with the Plant&Equipment Department in defining HS requirements for equipment, vehicles, machinery and plants
  • collaborating with the Engineering Department in the technical safety review of the projects and Method statements

 

Requirements:

  • University Degree in Technical disciplines (Engineering, Architecture, etc.)
  • RSPP qualification with a valid training update;
  • Minimum experience of 10 years in the Construction/Plant engineering sector, and in occupational health and safety control of construction site activities, of which at least 5 years as a RSPP/HS Manager/CSE Manager;
  • Experienced in infrastructural projects, including railway/metro works and underground works;
  • Lead auditor qualification UNI EN ISO 45001: 2018 (certification of having successfully passed the recognized 40-hour course for System Assessors);
  • Expertise and experience in implementing Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems;
  • Good knowledge of applicable legislation and technical standards;
  • Good knowledge of plants, machinery and personal protective equipment;
  • Knowledge of construction techniques and business processes;
  • Knowledge of risk analysis and assessment techniques;
  • Knowledge of statistics applied to safety and reporting processes
  • Knowledge of Accident Investigation techniques
  • Good knowledge of the main IT software, particularly of Word and Excel
