For the Milan's headquarters, we are seeking an Expert Technical Coordinator for the Hydro Projects area. Previous experience in hydroelectric project construction and at least 5 years of relevant experience are preferred.
The new hired will join the Hydro Product Engineering function with the following Macro Objectives:
During the bidding phase, they will actively participate in bid evaluations by ensuring:
- technical input to guarantee consistency in design aspects;
- technical and operational know-how for studying the setup of construction methodologies;
- interfacing with Operations for input on the organizational and operational aspects of the project;
- involvement in technical-design coordination activities, depending on the complexity of the project.
During the construction phase, they will directly liaise with the Project team, providing:
- systematic technical-engineering monitoring of activities;
- identification of any critical issues and appropriate corrective actions;
- activation of the Design Services department for specialized technical evaluations;
- feedback and knowledge management from ongoing projects.
Main responsibilities
- Support Business Development, Bidding, and Operations functions in preliminary studies of potential projects;
- Assist in the management and development of the technical offer by contributing to design choices alongside Design Services, Technical Experts, appointed external designers, and specialized service providers;
- During the bid preparation phase, maintain ongoing interaction with Operations to provide technical know-how specific to the relevant asset class, with the goal of defining and validating the operational approach (e.g., methods, construction logic, operational work sequences, materials, and resources to be used), aiming to increase project competitiveness in line with the bid strategy;
- In the start-up phase of Operational Units, support Project Technical Services in defining the scope of work for design consultants to be involved;
- Assist the Technical Services Manager and the Project Production Director in verifying the executive design and construction methods to ensure their consistency with the solutions prepared during the bidding phase;
- Functionally coordinate the technical services of the Project, ensuring systematic data and information exchange;
- Provide support in resolving issues identified during project execution, managing in-progress variations or revising construction methods for the asset class involved, to enhance project results in terms of costs and completion times;
- Participate in regular performance dialogue meetings (e.g., Project Pulse, Project Review) with Corporate and Operational Unit representatives, to monitor the progress of projects, anticipate potential issues, and activate specialized support for necessary corrective actions;
- Capture and formalize the know-how gained during project study and execution phases within the relevant asset class, in coordination with the Project Technical Services, Technical Services Units, and Knowledge Management teams.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field;
- At least 5 years of experience in similar roles;
- Fluency in both Italian and English;
- Competency in Project Management;
- Knowledge of hydroelectric construction techniques;
- Expertise in planning, scheduling, and controlling site activities;
- Ability to interpret technical documents, with a focus on technical and construction requirements;
- Proficiency in MS Office;
- Willingness to travel outside the EU.
