Health & Safety Advisor (Night Shift)

About Terra Verde:

Terra Verde is a joint venture between Webuild, GS Engineering & Construction (E&C) Australia, and Bouygues Construction Australia.

The joint venture combines experienced local personnel with global resources and expertise.

Terra Verde is delivering nearly 10 kilometres of parallel tunnels between Glen Waverley and Box Hill, including 39 cross passages and two station boxes at Glen Waverley and Burwood in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, as part of the Suburban Rail Loop Project.

This is the largest infrastructure project in Victoria’s history, shaping Melbourne and Victoria for future generations.

About the Role:

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting and overseeing the safety function on a project. Working under general supervision, you’ll help coordinate and maintain safety practices, systems, and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. This position will be a permanent night shift role, supporting structures and shaft work operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage documentation and reports related to project safety programs.
• Implement and oversee safety initiatives for all project personnel.
• Perform regular safety inspections and monitor work areas for compliance.
• Investigate safety concerns and develop corrective actions to resolve issues.
• Build and lead a high-performing team to achieve safety and project goals.
• Exhibit strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Set clear expectations, promote accountability, and support team development.
• Maintain a consistent on-site presence and foster relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Lead compliance efforts by understanding and communicating safety reporting procedures and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma or tertiary qualification in the relevant field
• A proficient level of knowledge and skill in Microsoft Office Systems.

• Skilled in identifying challenges and implementing practical, effective solutions.
• Self-motivated and capable of taking initiative and ownership of tasks with minimal supervision.
