We are looking for a Planner to be hired in SOTRA Link Construction Joint Venture in Bergen, Norway.

SOTRA Link Construction awarded the contract to build the new Sotra connection for the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. This includes Norway's first 4-lane suspension bridge. The head office is located in Sandslimarka 35, 5254 Sandsli.

The position, who will directly report to the Project Planning Manager,  will contribute to the following main tasks:

• Preparing and updating project schedules such as baseline schedules, comparison between actual and planned activities (site data collection, storage and analysis), in order to coordinate Construction, Engineering, Permit and Procurement schedule;
• Developing, in coordination with the Project Construction Manager, the schedule of civil works for the project, based on the project duration time;
• Preparing a programme of work, critical paths and target milestones based on the schedule, monitoring the milestones with the production of the work on site as per industry standards and quality;
• Providing advises to the Procurement Function to coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure that delivery schedules are met;
• Participating in internal project meetings with Project Managers, staff and subcontractors, raising weaknesses and delays in the schedule;
• Ensuring that the project has a schedule that meets the proposed requirements and accurately reflects the status and future intent of all project activities to ensure a planned and orderly completion;
• Providing advice and assistance to the Manager(s) and other staff as required to meet programme requirements (programme risk mitigation measures and opportunities);
• Coordinating and providing solutions to the Project Director/Manager in relation to planning and schedule control. Present the recovery plan and activities to make up for lost progress due to delays ("What if" scenario);
• Developing,  maintaing and managing the performance of programme schedules by identifying emerging trends, analysing various interfaces of works and analysing the critical paths and sub critical paths (Programme Risk Analysis).

Qualifications and experiences

• Education/ Training: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or other Engineering areas;
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing planning in major construction companies, preferably in Road Works (Highways) construction projects.

Required skills & knowledge

• Proficient in English Language;
• Proficient in Primavera P6, Tilos, Autocad;
• Proficient in MS Office;
• Result orientation;
• Good interpersonal and communication skills;
• Teamworking.
