UG Design Reviewer

The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world. 

Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.

Purpose of the Role:

Review and coordination on all the submissions of all TBM and D&B tunnels & UG Civil design packages.

 

Qualifications:

  • Masters in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering
  • White Card

Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in design of TBM and D&B tunnels.
  • Experience in use of any of the following Geotechnical software’s PLAXIS, FLAC and similar.
  •

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Review all the submissions of all TBM and D&B  tunnels & UG Civil design works from design consultant to ensure consistency among the design packages and with the Employer’s Requirements and that all agreed construction are properly incorporated in to the design and provide comments in case of any deviations.
  • Ensure the submission is value engineered and optimized in terms of material quantities, to ensure the design submittal is well within the tender design quantities.
  • Review of the comments on the TBM and D&B tunnels & UG Civil design packages from the Employer and coordination with the designers on related actions and responses.
  • Engage with Employer and arrange engineering workshops between design consultant & employer, to explain the TBM  and D&B tunnels & UG Civil design works design submittal towards expedition of faster approval for the design.
  • Coordination with design consultant to provide timely construction inputs to the design & ensure timely delivery of the tunnels & UG Civil design packages in line with design program.
  • Coordination with procurement team and technical office to provide information on design towards preparation of procurement packages and construction.
