The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world. 

Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.

Purpose of the Role:

The Heavy Equipment Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for mobile plant delivery, mobilisation, on going maintenance and spare parts / consumables management during production across the Snowy 2.0 site. They are will also plan, organise, lead and control site operations for compliance with the construction programme ensuring consistency in terms of, and in order to, ensure safety, cost, time, quality, environmental, community targets are achieved. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Trade Qualified Mechanical Tradesman
  • Driving License – Heavy vehicle
  • White Card

Experience:

  • Extensive Heavy Equipment experience, with Ideally 5 years of experience within a similar role
  • Experience supervising all workshop activities, especially technical issues
  • Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects works
  • Experience in basic use of Microsoft Office Suite, data and file recording.
  • Experience in Managing Relationships, People Management
  • Experience in Safety, Community and Environmental Management
  • Experience in Quality Management and Planning & Resourcing

Required Competencies:  

  • Knowledge of Mobile Plant equipment
  • Knowledge of mechanical and safety regulations for NSW
  • Sound interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to work to deadlines and targets and can prioritise tasks under pressure
  • Good organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • The ability to work quickly, effectively and positively in a demanding environment

  • Computer skills, competent using maintenance systems

 

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Performs supervisory responsibilities for managing all aspects of the repair and preventative maintenance of mobile equipment
  • Keep records of labour, materials and spare parts necessary for repair and maintenance
  • Control the release of serviced and repaired equipment with special attention to their safety
  • Plan, organise, schedule minor and major repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Monitor and update the preventative maintenance program
  • Forecast and order spare parts for specific jobs/special job or for stock replenishment
  • Assign work to mechanics based on their skill level
  • Responsible for the preparation of equipment for technical inspection in order to obtain and renew certification
  • Organise the daily running of Mechanical workshops, oversee all work being undertaken
  • Organise materials, spare parts and equipment to be available and returned as required
  • Compiling daily workshop, manpower and material reports highlighting spares usage and future requirements
  • Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment for future work
  • Assist in carrying out site inspections and organising future preventative work and repairs
  • Carry out safety inspections of workshops and organise improvements were required
  • Ensure workshops are operating in a safe and responsible manner
