The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world. 

Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.

Purpose of the Role:

To develop/review electrical designs, monitoring and maintenance of electrical QMS, procurement of electrical materials, order tracking and expediting with suppliers and technical support for project engineering queries as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineer.
  • Engineers Australia license (PE) preferred.
  • White Card
  • C Class Drivers’ License

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a site engineer, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Maintaining drawings, assets, and maintenance registers for the electrical network.
  • Scheduling and coordination of electrical activities with the site team.
  • Understanding of electrical codes and standards including electrical QA and maintenance requirements.
  • Knowledge of electrical consumables and switchgear for low voltage distribution systems.
  • Proficiency with preparing electrical scope of works for design packages and procuring plant and equipment.

Required Competencies:  

  • Sound knowledge of electrical codes and standards including electrical QA and maintenance requirements.
  • Proficiency in coordinating with cross-functional teams, including geotechnical engineers, plant and equipment team, and environmental specialists.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to liaise with on-site teams and report progress.
  • Knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and spoil management.
  • Proficiency with electrical SOW for design packages and procuring plant and equipment.
  • Strong Initiative and proactive nature

  • Well-developed time management skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Exceptional knowledge and ability in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining of drawings, assets, and maintenance registers for the electrical network.
  • Scheduling and coordination of electrical activities with the site team,
  • Procurement of electrical consumables and switchgear as per the site requirements.
  • Introduction to the plant and equipment organization and interface management between other disciplines in the project.
  • Educate regarding the relevant Australian Standards and project specifications applicable for electrical design review process.
  • Introduction to risk assessment workshops, safety in design, safety work method statements and job hazard analysis assessments.
  • Preparation of scope of works for plant and equipment procurement and understanding of technical evaluation process.
  • Review and understand electrical schematics for construction of plant and equipment.
  • Drafting of electrical schematics, designing of electrical systems, and providing technical support for project wide electrical queries.
  • Understand the quality management process, review inspection test plans and introduction to various permit systems for mechanical and electrical energization and operation.
