The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world. 

Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.

Purpose of the Role

The Project Manager is accountable for overseeing and validating all Project activities at their assigned work site are according to Employer Requirements and Project Management Plans, procedures and other controlled documents governing standards and procedures.

The Project Manager is accountable for targets being met, including cost, schedule, quality, safety and environmental standards. The Project Manager will work closely with directors, construction managers and other on-site department heads, ensuring productive operations.

The Project Manager is accountable for progress reporting to the Directors for their sites.

Plays a critical role in delivering the project on time, within budget, safely and efficiently, minimising delays and rework.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field
  • White Card

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in construction management
  • Proven leader of large quality driven project teams with a record of safe and successful delivery
  • Experienced in the financial management of large projects
  • Skilled and diplomatic communicator, with a strong appreciation for community and stakeholder relationships
  • Experienced in delivering sustainability initiatives and managing complex environmental considerations
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven experience in contract management and negotiation techniques
  • Strong safety and quality experience and commitment within a complex construction project

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project management plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ensure all project milestones, financial targets and deadlines are met by monitoring progress and implementing corrective actions as required.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication of project status and issues.
  • Consult with Commercial team to agree the value of claims and variations with the Client.
  • Coordinate with construction directors and site managers to facilitate effective communication and collaboration across teams for seamless operations.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage project teams including site managers and department heads.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment focussed on quality achievements.
  • Oversee and manage project budgets, financial forecasts, and resource allocation.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and control measures.
  • Provide regular financial updates and reports to senior management.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with industry standards, regulations, Employer requirements and project management plans and procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and implement corrective actions, ensuring issues are addressed promptly.
  • Ensure that non-conformances are reported, and that suitable remedial and corrective actions are planned and implemented within the required timeframe.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
  • In conjunction with the Construction Manager and heads of departments, participate in formal performance reviews for all staff at the site.
