The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world. 

Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.

Purpose of the Role:

The Lifting Supervisor will assist the Lifting Superintendent in overseeing lifting activities in the Snowy 2.0 project, ensuring that all lifting equipment, lifting operations and personnel are compliant with internal and external regulations and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Trade or equivalent in Advanced Rigging, Dogmen
  • White Card
  • C Class Diver’s License

Experience:

  • Extensive experience in civil or tunnelling construction, typically 5-10+ years of experience
  • Experience working on Australian construction environment
  • Experience on major infrastructure construction operations of similar scale with a proven ability to operate in a dynamic “live” environment and to meet significant program hurdles
  • Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects works
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, data and file recording.
  • Experience in Managing Relationships, People Management
  • Experience in Safety, Community and Environmental Management
  • Experience in Quality Management and Planning & Resourcing

 

Required Competencies:  

  • Knowledge of heavy lift cranes and associated rigging
  • Knowledge of TBM, conveyors and associated tunnel related equipment
  • Sound knowledge of civil construction materials / service
  • Sound knowledge of local WHS standards and regulations
  • Ability to supervise team members, work closely with safety and other departments to control and maintain project safety standards
  • Demonstrate a positive “can-do” attitude.
  • Ability to lead and manage teams
  • Demonstrate initiative and creative problem-solving skills
  • Practical knowledge and understanding of computers and Microsoft software packages.
  • Ability to implement and follow through on multiple issues and to achieve productive results
  • Sound interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to work to deadlines and targets and can prioritise tasks under pressure
  • Good organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and perform routine production tasks within the civil and structural scope of works on the FGJV Snowy 2.0 Project; 
  • To provide planning, support and reporting for relevant plant and equipment, civil and structural works
  • Assist the superintendent in all Lifting activities across the project – not confined to Crane lifts only
  • Implement and then train personnel on all Lifting procedures for the project adhering to all Safety and Australian standards.
  • Supervise and control the people, plant and equipment across the Civil and Structural zones on the Snowy 2.0 project.
  • Troubleshoot any issues that may arise on site
  • Implement and then train personnel on all Lifting procedures for the project adhering to all Safety and Australian standards
