The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world. 

Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.

Purpose of the Role:

As part of our Laboratory team you will perform quality assurance activities related to the operations of the Project Laboratories.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Materials Science or a related field - preferred
  • White Card

Experience:

  • Exposure working on a major civil infrastructure project/s and/or with NATA accredited construction materials testing laboratories
  • Experience in laboratory quality management, including quality system management and auditing

 

Required Competencies:  

  • Understanding of requirements of working under NATA accreditation and ISO 17025
  • Good understanding of Australian and International Standards relating to concrete and earthworks
  • An ability to collaborate across technical functions, site construction engineers and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work to deadlines and targets and can prioritise tasks under pressure
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with laboratory procedures, organisation, maintenance as well as health and safety requirements.
  • Able to work independently and impartially
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication
  • Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

 

 

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the Laboratory Quality Management System
  • Monitor quality standards and practices as well as specific compliance to NATA requirements
  • Auditing of Project Laboratories
  • Liaising with NATA and participation in NATA audits
  • Assist in establishing protocols and procedures for the Project ensuring safety and quality are maintained
