The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.

Purpose of the Role:

As an IR advisor, you will collaborate with a high-performing team to deliver timely, practical solutions to employee and industrial relations challenges. You will be responsible for providing guidance and support to managers and employees on various employee relations matters across the Project sites. Your primary focus will be on promoting positive working relationships, resolving conflicts, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. This role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with a deep understanding of legislation, common law, IR/HR policies and practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Human Resource Management, Employment Relations, Organisational Psychology, Law or relevant field
  • Construction White Card
  • Proven experience as an Industrial Relations Advisor or in a similar role, handling employee relations matters.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and IR / HR policies and practices.
  • Strong understanding of conflict resolution techniques and mediation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with employees and management at all levels.
  • Ability to conduct thorough and objective investigations, maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to analyse employee relations issues and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple cases and prioritize work effectively.

 

Desired Experience:

  • Demonstrated Industrial and Employee relations experience. on-site experience would be great.
  • Exceptional influencing, negotiation, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in the management of workplace grievances, complaints and investigations, with a focus on proactive prevention and resolution
  • Demonstrated resilience and capacity to autonomously prioritize tasks, manage risk, and engage with stakeholders efficiently
  • Investigate and resolve employee complaints and grievances, ensuring fair and impartial handling of cases.
  • Managing union right of entry to site and fostering effective relationships with union officials.
  • Ability to interpret complex employee relations and legislative/policy matters, including the site-specific enterprise agreements, and effectively communicate these to all stakeholders in clear and understandable terms
  • Knowledge, and experience in the application of HR/IR systems and processes
  • Collaborate with the broader IR team to execute projects and initiatives including supporting EBA negotiations and leadership development programs
  • Identify emerging issues in a workplace and assist in developing strategies to mitigate risks.
