The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world. 

Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.

Purpose of the Role:

Provide occupational hygiene support to the project collecting samples and recording sampling parameters, aligning with the FGJV sampling strategy.

Qualifications:

  • British Occupational Hygiene Society M201 Basic Principles of Occupational Hygiene
  • British Occupational Hygiene Society M501 Measurement of Hazardous Substances
  • Construction White Card

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Health/ Safety/ Hygiene Management related roles on large to medium scale construction projects.
  • Minimum 2 Years’ experience in Occupational Hygiene space, working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors.

 

 

Required Competencies:

  • Mid-level Microsoft Office (MS) skills, in particular MS Word and Excel for sampling planning and execution
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good oral and written skills when communicating sampling information, and results to FGJV Occupational Hygienist and Systems Governance and Reporting team.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and adept at working in multicultural teams.
  • Ability to conduct the following monitoring activities:
    • Collection of personal (breathing zone) air samples for various airborne contaminants
    • Collection of static samples for various airborne contaminants
    • Conduct survey measurements for volatile organic compounds and gaseous contaminants using real-time monitoring equipment
    • Use of Personal Sound Exposure Meters to conduct personal noise exposure measurements
    • Conduct noise survey measurements using an integrating sound level meter
    • Pre and post-calibration of sampling equipment and recording of calibration data
    • Collection and entry of data for the exposure assessment to assist with report preparation

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Execute planned sampling strategies working with capability
  • Provide QHSE function with timely and comprehensive sampling data to FGJV hygienist and OHSE team
  • Support FGJV employees and client QHSE function on QHSE audit related matters.
