The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world. 

Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.

Purpose of the Role:

Working within a diverse and multidisciplinary engineering team to co-ordinate interrelation between Design and Construction, the Permanent Works Junior Engineer assists the Permanent Works Engineer to ensure feasibility, safety, and constructability of designs relevant to Permanent and temporary Works related with underground structures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor/Master of Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • White Card

Experience:

  • 1 years’ of experience working in a similar role – preferred but not necessary

 

Required Competencies:  

  • Technical knowledge of underground & surface excavation and concrete works
  • Knowledge of Tunnelling methods
  • Knowledge of Engineering basic concepts
  • Understanding of best practices of tunnelling works
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Good prioritization capabilities
  • Problem solving capabilities
  • Works well under Pressure

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Technical coordination (gather, analyse, simplify, summarise, and provide information) with other colleagues and leads to produce documentation such as:
    • Construction Method statement
    • Material approval request
    • Scope of works
    • Technical evaluation
    • Design change request
    • Request for information
    • Sketches
    • Calculation and reports
    • Risk assessment
  • Interface with other departments of project to lead or support in the production of the above-mentioned documents
