The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world. 

Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.

Purpose of the Role:

The purpose of the electrical supervisor is to provide technical leadership with regards to the electrical design of the project. This requires managing the design production of the specialist sub-consultants to provide value engineered design solutions. The electrical shop supervisor will plan, organise, lead and control site operations for compliance with the construction programme ensuring consistency in terms of, and in order to, ensure safety, cost, time, quality, environmental, community targets are achieved. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Electrical Trade Qualification or trade qualification in a similar discipline
  • White Card
  • C Class Driver’s License
  • Formal training in workplace training and assessment - desirable

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 Years’ experience in the supervision of Building/ Civil projects on mine and Petrochemical sites in Australia, experience working in chemical processing environment would be ‘highly regarded’.
  • Experience in basic use of Microsoft Office Suite, data and file recording.
  • Experience in Safety, Community and Environmental Management
  • Experience in Quality Management
  • Experience in Planning & Resourcing

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the successful delivery of the electrical design for the Snowy 2.0 project within the required constraints for time, cost, quality, safety, environment and the community
  • To provide technical planning, support and reporting for the electrical engineering aspects of the project works execution
  • Support the Design Manager in the design, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
  • Provide technical leadership with regards to the electrical design of the project. This requires to manage the design production of the specialist sub-consultants to provide value engineered design solutions.
  • Manage the design review process for the electrical design packages to ensure timely reviews and approvals by the client, independent verifier and third parties
  • Provide expert technical advice in the field of electrical engineering
  • Manage the assessment of design solutions against technical criteria for the electrical design
  • Support the Design team to deliver design outcomes in a timely and efficient way
  • Assist with the submissions and reports
  • Support the Project’s requirements in delivering a project against safety, quality, regulatory, legislative, environmental, safety and cost requirements
  • Coach and mentor junior staff if required
  • Support the Design Manager in managing and delivering design solutions against multiple and complex stakeholder, contract and regulatory requirements
  • Manage client relationships to maintain a positive industry profile and develop ongoing business
  • Manage effective relationships with multiple business and government clients and partners
  • Review electrical design documents against project deed requirements and to ensure value engineering solutions are considered and incorporated into design.
  • Provide technical leadership in the field of electrical engineering.
  • Manage the subconsultant responsible for the electrical design
  • Manage the design review process for the electrical design packages
