The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world. 

Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.

About the job

The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering and construction experience and expertise of Webuild, Clough and Lane and is the principal contractor delivering for project owner Snowy Hydro Limited, delivering the iconic Snowy 2.0, a major Snowy Scheme expansion underpinning Australia’s transition to a renewable energy future.

 

Reporting to the People and Culture Director, the Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Manager collaborates with the Project Director and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to understand the project's operational direction and deliver effective communication and engagement solutions. This role also supports leaders in achieving functional outcomes.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and Implement Communication Strategies: Create and execute strategies that align with the Joint Venture's purpose, values, and objectives.
  • Reputation Management: Protect and enhance the Joint Venture's reputation through internal and external communications, maintaining trusted relationships with key media, industry, and stakeholders.
  • Functional Partnership: Collaborate with various project functions to support strategic goals and foster a positive culture of employee engagement and work environment.

 

Role Responsibilities:

This hands-on role leads a team across various project sites, accountable for project communications and stakeholder engagement outcomes. The manager must balance effective team leadership with individual contributions. This unique and strategic role offers opportunities to influence, collaborate, and improve practices across the project. Understanding risks and opportunities within the project, influencing strategy, and managing issues are essential components of this role.

  • Internal Communications

 

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Journalism, Communications, Marketing or Public Relations
  • 10 - 15 years experience in a construction environment or similar in Communications, Community and Stakeholder engagement, and media liaison.
