The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.

Purpose of the Role:

The prime focus of the role will be to lead and manage the survey function on a major infrastructure project.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering
  • White Card

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar role – preferred
  • Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects works
  • Experience in several survey software’s such as Autodesk and Leica Infinity
  • Experience of underground / TBM tunnelling operations including alignment control and convergence monitoring.
  • Experience of diagnosing TBM guidance systems

 

 

Required Competencies:  

  • Provision, maintenance & adjustment of Primary Survey Control Networks. 
    GPS
  • Scanning (instrumentation/software). 
  • In depth understanding of survey principles
  • Ground Settlement Monitoring (automatic & manual systems) including reporting of data
  • Good understanding of Australian and International Standards relating to concrete and earthworks
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong teaching and coaching skills
  • Ability to lead a team and develop skills
  • Ability to collaborate across technical functions, site construction engineers and external stakeholders Sound interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to work to deadlines and targets and can prioritise tasks under pressure

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure surveying services meet Project requirements throughout all phases of the Project.
  • Oversee preparation of all required survey plans.
  • Ensure the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations.
  • Oversee preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records and documents related to Project surveys.
  • Manage survey services to ensure the accurate location and layout of work within the lines, grades and elevations indicated in the design drawings.
  • Coordinate and schedule survey activities to meet project work schedules.
  • Provide advice and support to the field operations as required
  • Ensure that the Project utilizes the most appropriate survey practices to result in an accuracy level that meets the requirements of the Project design.
  • Set a personal example in health, safety and environmental matters by ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures through method statements, risk assessments and briefings. 
  • Manage, supervise and mentor section, site and assistant engineers and surveyors to ensure high levels of engineering / survey control and generation of appropriate records
