The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world. 

Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.

Purpose of the Role:

To manage the overall performance for camp services, including; Reception, Accommodation services, Cleaning Services, Catering and Kitchen Services, General Waste services, and any other services related to the running of site camps.

Qualifications:

  • White Card
  • C Class Driver’s License
  • Trade related qualifications
  • Cert IV in Training & Assessment Preferrable

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years working in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency – Essential – Word and Excel / Desirable – PowerPoint / Publisher
  • Demonstrated experience in following written communication including job orders and directions
  • 2-5 years’ experience in planning and scheduling work within a multidiscipline workforce.
  • Experience with Preventive and Reactive maintenance systems, ability to develop others, problem shoot and data analysis.

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • The position will work closely with key personal, namely the general Services management Team, other camp superintendents & service line supervsiors.to ensure all contract deliverables are achieved.
  • The position will have financial responsibility for the performance of the camp and will be required to monitor all revenues and expenditures closely and report on same to the General Services Manager on a minimum of a monthly basis.
  • The position will be expected to adhere completely to all internal FGJV procurement procedures and policies.
  • The position will liaise with the Human Resource & Recruitment Department for all staff related services including recruitment, payroll oversight, employment conditions and issues requiring counselling, discipline or other action and will follow FGJV documented procedures and policies in all instances as required.
  • The position will work closely with the Camp Operator to ensure catering, tavern & retail services are maintained to a high standard; food safety compliance is observed at all times, and the sites are managed in accordance with FGJV deliverables and services are supplied daily as required.
  • The position will work closely with the other Camp Superintendents to ensure consistency for all accommodation and camp services are maintained to a high standard; and that the sites are managed in accordance with FGJV deliverables and services are supplied as required.
  • The position will work closely with the staffing/agency representative to ensure payroll is recorded and correctly paid every week and compliance is maintained.
  • The position will ensure that safety compliance is observed and documented weekly and all incident reporting is completed as per FGJV specifications
  • This position is a hands-on managerial role which requires the incumbent to work in various areas of the business. The Camp Superintendent will manage staff on a daily basis and must be able to delegate tasks quickly and efficiently to ensure service is not delayed.
  • The Camp superintendent must be a leader, able to motivate and train staff to deliver the services in a professional, efficient, and economic fashion on a daily basis. The Camp Superintendent will receive direction from the General Services Manager but will be expected to manage the camp and be responsible for daily decisions impacting upon the camp.
  • The position therefore requires an individual with the willingness to work flexible hours and an ability to manage their own time in order to meet deadlines.
