About Terra Verde:

Terra Verde is a joint venture between Webuild, GS Engineering & Construction (E&C) Australia, and Bouygues Construction Australia.

The joint venture combines experienced local personnel with global resources and expertise.

Terra Verde is delivering nearly 10 kilometres of parallel tunnels between Glen Waverley and Box Hill, including 39 cross passages and two station boxes at Glen Waverley and Burwood in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, as part of the Suburban Rail Loop Project.

This is the largest infrastructure project in Victoria’s history, shaping Melbourne and Victoria for future generations.

About the opportunity:

To support the delivery of Terra Verde, we are looking for Project Engineers with Excavation experience to join our TBM team.

These roles will be based in Burwood and will support the delivery of construction engineering outcomes covering deep underground structures, ground improvement, shaft excavation, tunnelling and permanent structures.

This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of an iconic construction project based in Melbourne, Victoria.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications
• Write, review and present construction methods to relevant stakeholders that are in line with project requirements
• Develop construction methods and engineering concepts to safely and cost effectively deliver packages of work
• Monitor construction progress for adherence to programme and report to the Site Manger or Project Manager Interpret designs for implementation in construction projects
• Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes
• Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes 

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Experience in Earthworks is required
• High level verbal and written communication skills
• Proven experience in successfully delivering large work packages
• Proven experience in managing site engineers on large-scale civil construction projects
• Ideally, previous experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Contractor on a construction project
• Ability to effectively manage budgets, systems and stakeholders to achieve an exceptional outcome
• Excellent attitude and awareness of Safety
• Self-motivation and drive to achieve value-for-money results

Please be advised that this project is a large scale T1 project with potential for 24/7 shift work, whilst we will aim for weekend work to be split fairly between employees there may be role requirements on occasion for evening shift work.
