Indirect Cost Estimator

We have an exciting opportunity for an Indirect Cost Estimator to join the Bidding Team in New Zealand!

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing indirect cost estimates (including cash flow and escalation), leading cost planning for tenders and design bids, and reviewing both internal and third-party estimates. You’ll support the approval process by contributing to key summary documents and may attend review meetings. As part of a decentralized APAC team, occasional travel may be required to support estimate preparation across different locations.

Your focus will include:

• Develop accurate pricing models from the client or engineering supplied data.
• Utilise Industry based norms and published data to develop first principle estimates.
• Input the pricing to the estimating package utilising developed standard pricing structures.
• Collects, reconciles and verifies data for summary comparisons
• Responsible for indirect estimates, preliminary costs & time related costs including allowances for risk and contingency.
• Work directly with the project development team to align the estimate and the methodology.
• Work directly with the Planning team to align the estimate and the schedule.
• Supports reporting efforts and participates in estimate summary presentations and internal estimate reviews
• Report to management the estimate progress and advise of any difficulties or constraints in compiling the estimate.
• Participate in tender reviews with senior management and adjust costings as required.
• Ensure relevant documents, deliverables and reports are submitted within the bid deadline.
• Reporting to management tender preparation progress and advise of any difficulties in compiling the tender submission.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to evaluate site access and conditions.
• Prepare comprehensive bids, proposals, and tender documents, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with requirements and timelines.
• Participate in pre-ward/contract negotiations if required and respond to post tender queries.

What you will bring to the team:

• 4+ years’ minimum experience in an estimating role
• 8+ years’ experience within the construction sector
• Experience with data base estimating packages
