Position Overview
The Technical Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all technical aspects of the project, including design, execution, and construction activities. This role ensures that all works are planned, designed, and completed in full compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and applicable regulations. The Technical Manager collaborates closely with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality and efficient project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Design Management
- Oversee and manage the complete design process, ensuring technical accuracy and feasibility.
- Develop and implement design plans, technical specifications, and construction methodologies.
- Review, validate, and approve project designs, drawings, and documentation.
- Identify technical risks, design inconsistencies, or potential issues and propose effective solutions.
- Ensure full compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and project requirements.
Project Execution & Coordination
- Monitor construction progress and alignment with design intentions.
- Adjust plans, schedules, and resources as needed to ensure timely project completion.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients to ensure all technical requirements are met.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, including site supervisors and engineering staff.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Prepare, interpret, and present progress reports to senior management.
- Manage and monitor project quantities, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Identify opportunities for improving efficiency and reducing costs without compromising quality.
- Troubleshoot technical issues encountered during construction and ensure timely resolution.
- Continuously evaluate project performance and implement corrective actions when required.
Team Management & Problem Solving
- Coordinate and lead the office technical team, ensuring effective communication and task allocation.
- Support decision-making in high-pressure situations and provide guidance during critical project phases.
- Foster a collaborative environment between design, technical, and site execution teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Degree in Engineering (Civil, Geotechnical, Structural, or related field).
- Extensive experience in large-scale infrastructure projects, with strong emphasis on:
- Tunnel excavation (TBM and conventional)
- Bridge construction
- Steel reinforcement works
- Railway technologies
Technical Skills
- Strong command of engineering design principles and construction methodologies.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D; knowledge of Civil 3D is highly preferred.
- Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and project documentation.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Language & Soft Skills
- Proficiency in English
- Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work under pressure.
- Ability to make sound technical decisions in time-critical situations.
