We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the senior project leadership team delivering a major, complex vertical construction project in Christchurch.

Working closely with the Project Director, you will hold a pivotal role in the leadership and day-to-day delivery of the project. This is a significant construction environment involving multiple disciplines, packages and work fronts, requiring a Project Manager who is comfortable operating at scale and can bring strong leadership, sound judgement and a disciplined approach to delivery.

You are an accomplished construction leader who is comfortable with the scale, complexity and accountability that comes with major project delivery. You know how to bring teams together, maintain momentum and make sound decisions in a demanding construction environment.

Your focus will include:

• Working closely with the Project Director to lead the successful delivery of the project and drive key project priorities.
• Providing senior leadership across construction activities, multidisciplinary teams and multiple work fronts.
• Driving programme performance and proactively identifying and resolving delivery constraints, risks and interface issues.
• Coordinating effectively across construction, design, engineering, commercial, planning and project controls.
• Ensuring safety, quality, programme and commercial objectives remain at the forefront of project delivery.
• Providing clear direction and accountability across project teams, subcontractors and delivery partners.
• Building strong, collaborative relationships with the client, project stakeholders, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Supporting project strategy, governance and senior-level decision making as a key member of the project leadership team.

What you will bring to the team:

• Extensive Project Management or senior construction delivery experience within major vertical building projects.
• Ideally, experience gained within a Tier 1 construction environment, leading the delivery of large, complex building projects.
• Candidates from Tier 2 contractors will also be considered where they can demonstrate substantial experience delivering large-scale, complex vertical construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience leading large multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and complex packages of work.
• Strong understanding of construction methodology, programme, design, commercial and delivery interfaces.
• A proven ability to operate effectively within complex, high-value and fast-paced project environments.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management capability, with the confidence to work closely with senior project and client leadership.
• A practical, collaborative leadership style with the ability to make sound decisions and maintain momentum through challenging stages of project delivery.
• Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
