We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Controls Manager to join the New Women and Babies Hospital Team in Perth! In this role, you will effectively be responsible for establishing and operating a project-level controls and governance function that integrates design, delivery, cost and risk to support disciplined decision-making and contractual compliance.

WeBuild is delivering the design and construction of the Women and Babies Hospital in Perth, Western Australia. This landmark project will replace the century-old King Edward Memorial Hospital and expand services and choice for women, newborns and families, delivering lasting benefits and a positive legacy for the people of Western Australia.

Your focus will include:

 

  • Act as the single coordination point across design, operations, planning and cost functions for controls-related matters.
  • Establish and manage the overall governance framework for the development of the Guaranteed Cost Sum (GCS), ensuring alignment between design maturity, delivery methodology, program assumptions, quantities, cost build-up and risk exposure.
  • Act as the central coordination point for all GCS inputs across design, operations, planning, cost and risk, ensuring information is current, consistent, traceable and aligned to the agreed scope and delivery strategy.
  • Coordinate the integration of quantities, program and cost information, ensuring that cost build-ups are demonstrably linked to design-based quantities, construction sequencing and operational methodology.
  • Lead implementation and operation of the Design Quantities Management framework.
  • Own and manage the change management interface between design, operations, cost and risk.
  • Ensure design- and delivery-led changes are identified early and assessed consistently.
  • Coordinate time, cost and risk impact assessments.
  • Act as the primary interface between design development and cost-related risk.
  • Work closely with planning and operations teams to align design outputs with construction sequencing.
  • Ensure program changes driven by operational requirements are reflected in cost and quantities.
  • Authority to request information from design, operations, planning and commercial teams.
  • Authority to convene coordination and governance forums.

 

What you will bring to the team:

 

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications – Commercial, Accounting, Engineering, Law or related discipline
  • 10 years+ project controls management experience
  • Proficiency in project controls systems and digital tools (SAP, Power BI)
  • Proven experience managing project controls on complex major infrastructure, construction and/or resources projects
  • Ability to collaborate and build effective relationships with project teams and stakeholders
  • Strong commitment to safety, governance and continuous improvement
  • Detail-orientated with a proactive approach to risk and performance management
  • Exceptional commercial and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
