EOI - Lead Mechanical Piping Engineer

We are looking for expressions of interest for and experienced Lead Mechanical/Piping Engineer with extensive Piping Design experience for an upcoming Power Project! In this role, you will effectively oversees the creation and integrity of complex piping systems, leading a team to develop layouts, perform stress/flow analysis, select materials, and ensure designs meet company and safety standards.

Your focus will include:

  • Deputise for the Chief Mechanical/Piping Engineer
  • Accountable for performance and delivery of piping engineering services against agreed project budgets and schedules
  • Manage and coordinate the design effort of team reports to achieve satisfactory project performance
  • Review and approval of detailed design and technical documents
  • Work as a Technical Specialist to ensure specification compliance and technical integrity of design
  • Commercial awareness to ensure economic and safe selection of piping systems
  • Liaise with Clients, Suppliers and Internal personnel                                                
  • Participate in Model Review, Design Review, HAZID/HAZOP, safety in design, constructability, and safety reviews

 

 

What you will bring to the team:

 

  • Proven Australian experience in piping detailed design of complex projects with experience in delivery concept development, FEED, EPC phases in greenfield and brownfield environment
  • Working on a major project in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Minimum of 16 years of experience in design and integrity assessment in Oil & Gas, LNG, minerals processing and/or petrochemical industries
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills    
  • Experience in detailed design, re-design, re-rating of the piping, design modification, alterations to the existing plant, pipe stress analysis, FIV and AIV analysis, FFS assessment
  • Exposure and experience in Construction, Construction Management, Maintenance and Operations roles would be well regarded
  • Working knowledge of the engineering software, eg. Caesar II, NozzlePRO, Solidworks Simulation or ANSY.          
  • Knowledge and experience of 3D intelligent design and project delivery systems and procedures, e.g. utilising Navisworks models
  • Teriary Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
