Webuild is currently seeking a Financial Controller to provide professional, efficient, and systematic support to the AFC Director of Webuild with regards to SSTOM Project, focusing on Accounting and Reporting functions.

The selected person will be responsible for ensuring the project Financial Reporting and Financial Accounting teams, implement

ing necessary accounting processes to enable accurate and timely financial reporting and carrying out and supervising accurate and timely processing of financial data, verifying their consistencies and consolidating financial Report.

 

 

Key responsibilities

·      Provide support for the preparation of monthly financial statements for statutory and managerial purposes.

·      Assure consistency of income statement, balance sheet and cash flows analysis, providing ad hoc reports highlighting variances with budget and other short-term projections

·      Prepare Financial Group Reporting package according to the Group guidelines

·      Drive continuous improvement in management accounting, ensuring ongoing increases in the team’s efficiency and effectiveness

·      Facilitate monthly accounts closing, also through process reengineering

·      Support with year-end audit process and assure consistency of document provided to external parties;

·      Review monthly management accounts.

·      Ensure team compliance with monthly reporting timetable.

·      Overseeing the preparation of annual budgets and periodic rolling forecasts.

·      Overseeing the accuracy, monitoring and management of cost codes and project reports

·      Liaison with internal and external auditors for half and year-end reporting purposes

·      Maintain internal controls, including reviewing reconciliations and general ledger journal entries.

Build and maintain a strong working relationship with key internal and external stakeholders.

 

 

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & Finance or any other relevant Commerce degree

CA or CPA qualified 

 

·      5 years of experience leading an accounts team

·      Preferred experience within a heavy civil construction (infrastructure) environment

· Prior experience in financial reporting, technical accounting and consolidation reporting 

·      Strong technical management accounting skills

·      A high level of computer literacy with advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications and in particular Excel

·      Knowledge of SAP

·      Sound understanding of financial accounting concepts and International accounting standards

·      Company Law knowledge 

·      Sound problem solving skills

·      Ability and desire to coach and guide subordinate team members

 

Strong judgement to correct and resolves issues and problems that are complex or vaguely defined
