Junior Site Engineer – Australia

 

Webuild is hiring a Junior Site Engineer to include in its Construction Department for the Snowy 2.0 Project in Australia.

Snowy 2.0 is currently the largest green energy project in Australia. It has been created as an enlargement of the old Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Scheme built seventy years ago and allows to produce more energy and to reach the goals for cutting toxic gas emissions in the environment. The Snowy 2.0 plant will increase the production of electric energy by 2,000 MW. The original Hydro-Electric Scheme already has a 4,100 MW capacity.

The new figure will assist the Construction Department in the coordination of the efficient operation of a multi-discipline workforce combining direct workforce, supplementary labor and external subcontractors. Coordinate and ensure compliance of all relevant design, safety, quality, community and environmental and sustainability related deliverables and documentation.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Managing parts of construction site.
  • Managing the assigned staff and coordinating construction-related activities.
  • Check that the planned activities are in line with the work schedule.
  • Fill in the daily reports of the activities carried out.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, quality and sustainability policies and legislation.
  • Checking technical designs and drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly.

 

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 2-3 years of experience.
  • Fluent English.
  • Good knowledge of civil, structural and geotechnical engineering.
  • Competence in interpreting technical schedules and documentation.
  • Contract comprehension.
  • Sense of initiative, adaptability and willingness to spend part of working hours outside the office.
  • Willingness to relocate to Australia.
