For the Milan headquarter, Webuild is looking for a new resource to join the role of Senior Buyer in the Plant & Equipment Procurement function. The function has the task of defining and implementing the purchasing and sales strategy of the plant and equipment commodity and the related budget.
Main activities of the department
- Definition of the Supplier List within the Vendor List for the relevant product class, ensuring its approval in compliance with the defined procedures. Preparation of requests for tender to be submitted to the relevant suppliers.
- Managing commercial and contractual negotiation activities with the identified suppliers, in order to pursue the objectives of cost-effectiveness, synergy, qualitative excellence and lead time optimisation.
- Analysis, comparison and evaluation of offers received from suppliers, ensuring their technical verification by the requesting Corporate Departments/Operational Units. Preparation of summary tabulations of the final offers and recommendation to be shared with the requesting functions.
- Definition of terms and conditions for contracts/purchase orders with the support of the relevant functions, ensuring the collection of prior authorisations, as established by the authorisation and power of attorney system.
- Analysis and monitoring of the machinery and plant sales market, identifying the methodologies and survey tools to identify the best areas and markets and simulate the achievable sales results.
- Analysis of the main sub-commodities of direct responsibility with subsequent definition of relevant strategies for future application on procurement activities of direct responsibility and in site procurement teams.
- Monitoring and management of procurement saving in the area of direct responsibility by means of a specific control tool and in collaboration with the various bodies in charge (Capacity Management, AFC, Site Procurement).
- Identification of potential purchasers and preparation of tender requests and related negotiations. Direct management of negotiation activities within the relevant economic value entities, with the aim of maximising sales revenues of the Group's plant and machinery.
- Sharing the final summary tabulations and recommendations for approval of the final terms and conditions of sale and choice of purchaser with the relevant functions. Drafting of the contract, ensuring compliance with the Code of Ethics, the Organisation, Management and Control Model pursuant to Legislative Decree 231/2001, the Anti-Corruption Model and applicable legislation.
- Analysis of reports and identification, in agreement with the competent functions, of corrective actions in order to manage and mitigate the criticalities detected in the execution of plant and machinery procurement processes within the Group.
- Identification, in agreement with the internal technical body, of potential cost savings obtained through the involvement of new suppliers/new technologies, with subsequent support for supplier development in accordance with current responsibilities/methodologies.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Economics or Engineering;
- At least 5-7 years' experience in the Procurement area of structured companies, with a preference for the automotive sector;
- Computer skills: Office package (especially Excel) and SAP;
- Expertise in market analysis and benchmarking, purchasing and sales strategies, negotiation techniques, contracting and value and cost analysis;
- Fluent knowledge of the English language.
