For our Milan Headquarters, we are hiring a Plants, Underground and Tunneling Expert to include within our Plant & Equipment Department, TBM area (Tunneling Boring Machines) 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for defining the characteristics and/or technical/technological specifications of relevant machines/components/equipment/plants, to guarantee a correct technical support to the various global projects. Responsible for optimizing and choosing the most suitable machines/ components/equipment/systems for carrying out the activities needed to achieve the project's production targets, in compliance with the economic targets. Defining the technical interventions to be carried out on the machinery/ components, to solve any problems, while also concomitantly interfacing with the Supplier and the construction site;
  • During the tender phase, supporting the Bidding Department to study an offer and/or new initiatives, to identify,  with the P&E plants the relevant products needed for executing the project, while also defining the technical specifications, productivity, and economic targets to define and validate the Investment and Amortization Plan;
  • At the start of the project, verifying the budgets to submit for approval to the P&E plants and the Project Manager, while also defining the technical specifications of the machinery/equipment to purchase. Supporting the Procurement department to identify the Vendor list of suppliers to involve in a tender, and technically assessing the offers received, in order to select the supplier. Verifying product development at the supplier's plant, while being responsible for Testing and the FAT (Final Acceptance Test) of the purchased and/or modified machinery/equipment; 
  • As part of the finalization of the corporate agreements, regarding Operational Units participated by the Shareholders, providing support to prepare the underground excavation machinery regulations, while coordinating with the Project's P&E plants and the Project Manager, being supported by the relevant AFC Manager, the Area Manager/Coordinator and the Area Controller, by defining the rules to supply the machinery by the Partners;
  • Supporting the assessment of the correct application of the operational procedures relating to earthmoving machinery and, if needed, supporting the updating and/or modification activities.

 

Requirements:

  • MsC in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with courses/exams in Mechatronics or Automation;
  • Capable of reading technical drawings;
  • Knowledge of the machinery, equipment and plants used in the construction sector;
  • Knowledge of the methods for starting, operating, disposing, and of the applicable regulations and maintenance;
  • Available to travel (30-35%) and stay at construction and joint venture sites;
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
